Recently, the China Highway and Transportation Society announced the winners of the 3rd National Highway "Micro-Innovation" Competition. The "Dry Preparation Technology for Intermixing of Manufactured Sand via Dual-Host Crushing"—jointly submitted by Jiangxi Communications Construction Group and Fujian Ninon Technology Co., Ltd.—stood out from 1,288 entries and claimed the Silver Award. This technology, a core upgrade for modern manufactured sand production lines, has become a highlight in the industry’s pursuit of efficiency and quality.
Hosted by the China Highway and Transportation Society, the National Highway "Micro-Innovation" Competition honors engineering and technical teams for small but impactful upgrades—such as optimizing sand making machine, improving processes, or refining construction methods. Its goal is to advance highway technology practice, boost construction standardization, commend outstanding "micro-innovation" contributors, and promote replicable tech achievements—all of which align with Ninon’s efforts to enhance machinery performance.
The award-winning technology, independently developed by Ninon and holding national invention and utility model patents, is an industry-first innovation for manufactured sand production lines. It solves long-standing pain points of sand making: poor adaptability to different raw materials, slow adjustment of gradation and fineness, and cumbersome switching between raw material specifications. Notably, it has realized an automated "sand formula" memory mode for manufactured sand production lines, ensuring stable product quality. This technology has been successfully applied to the C40-60 bridge and tunnel concrete of the newly built Yichun-Suichuan Expressway by Jiangxi Communications Construction Group, proving its practical value in key projects. What’s more, this optimized manufactured sand production line construction method has also won the Jiangxi Provincial Construction Method Certificate, further affirming its reliability.
Traditional sand making machine rely on single large hosts to meet output demands, leading to low sand production rates, poor gradation, and high energy consumption. In contrast, Ninon’s upgraded sand making machine adopts dual hosts with different linear speeds, specifically designed to crush 2.36mm-5mm materials efficiently. This design boosts the sand production rate by 15%-25% compared to peer manufactured sand production lines, cuts energy consumption, and achieves cost reduction and efficiency improvement. It also simplifies construction operations, promotes standardization of the sand making plant, and enhances overall construction efficiency.
Looking ahead, Ninon will continue to innovate, accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and develop more replicable, promotable upgrades for manufactured sand production lines. It will contribute to highway technology development and provide high-quality aggregate solutions for downstream building materials industries relying on advanced manufactured sand production lines.
