On July 8, 2020, the kick-off meeting for the PDM project of Fujian Ninon Technology Co., Ltd.—a key initiative to optimize the R&D, production, and technical management of its core product, the sand making machine—was held in the company's multi-functional media conference room. The General Manager of Ninon Technology, representatives from the Technical Department, Information Management Department, Production Department, Marketing Department, and representatives from CAXA Company attended the meeting.

General Manager Wang of Ninon elaborated on the importance and urgency of launching the PDM project for the company’s business. He emphasized that internal control management, digital informatization, refined management, and intelligent manufacturing are inevitable trends for enterprise development—especially critical for upgrading the R&D efficiency and quality control of the sand making machine, a product with high technical requirements. The company will enhance its survival and development capabilities in the competitive sand making machine market through digital informatization transformation via the PDM project.

PDM is a technology that manages all product-related information (including BOMs for sand making machien components, technical documents for assembly, digital files of designs, database records of sand making machine production parameters, etc.) and all product-related processes (including workflows for R&D iterations and change processes for part upgrades). The implementation of this project requires close cooperation between the two teams, maintaining active communication during the process, and establishing a reward and punishment system—all to better serve sand making machine product management. General Manager Wang called on everyone to work together to make sand making machine R&D more standardized and cross-departmental collaboration (such as between Technical and Production Departments for sand making machine manufacturing) more sound, so as to achieve the project’s expected results soon. On the basis of successfully implementing PDM for sand making machine management, a solid foundation will be laid for future PLM, MES, and ERP systems.

At the meeting, General Manager Lin from CAXA Software introduced team members, PDM system functions (including how to apply them to sand making machine info management), PDM management concepts, implementation guarantees, and the overall plan. Ninon’s participants had in-depth discussions with CAXA on the actual situation of sand making machine technology and production management, as well as system functions for sand making machine-related applications.
