Recently, the China Highway and Transportation Society announced the winners of the 3rd National Highway "Micro-Innovation" Competition. Among 331 submitted projects, the "Dry Preparation Process for Interblending of Mechanically Produced Sand by Dual-Host Crushing"—jointly submitted by Jiangxi Communications Construction Group and Ninon—stood out and claimed the Silver Award.
To accelerate the implementation of strategies for building a strong science and technology country and a strong transportation country, the society launched this competition to promote the application of new technologies, processes, materials, and equipment in the highway industry. It aims to encourage technological innovation among engineers and technicians, enhance engineering standardization, and focus on "micro-innovation" that boosts efficiency, cuts costs, improves quality, ensures safety, and supports low-carbon development—ultimately forming replicable achievements to advance highway technologies.
This award-winning process, independently developed by Ninon, is a game-changer for the manufactured sand production line. It has secured national invention patents and utility model patents, with the VSI crusher(a core component of dual-host crushing) playing a pivotal role in its success. As an industry-first technology, it solves long-standing challenges in the manufactured sand production line: poor adaptability to different raw materials, slow adjustment of sand gradation and fineness, and cumbersome switching between raw material specifications. Thanks to the VSI crusher’s high-efficiency crushing and shaping capabilities, the process also realizes an automated "sand formula" memory mode—allowing the manufactured sand production line to quickly match different engineering needs with minimal manual intervention.
The technology has been successfully applied to the C40-60 bridge and tunnel concrete of the newly built Yichun-Suichuan Expressway (constructed by Jiangxi Communications Construction Group), where the manufactured sand production line, equipped with the dual-host crushing system and VSI crusher, delivered stable, high-quality manufactured sand that met strict engineering standards.
