The sand making system of a sand making plant mainly consists of VSI crusher (vertical shaft impact crusher), rod mills, vibrating screens, gradation adjustment equipment, air screens (or sand washers). As a core sand crusher, the VSI crusher plays an important role in the whole artificial sand production line. At present, the combined sand making equipment of VSI crusher and rod mill is widely adopted in China, which is recognized as an efficient matching mode for the sand making machine.
For friable and medium-hardness raw materials in the artificial sand production line, a VSI crusher can be used alone as the main sand crusher for sand making, together with a high-rotor-speed sand crusher for shaping, so as to ensure the quality of finished sand. This matching mode not only simplifies the structure of the sand making plant, but also improves the working efficiency of the sand making machine.
For high-hardness and extremely hard-to-crush raw materials, a short-head cone crusher is used in combination with a rod mill for sand making, and the VSI crusher can also be added as an auxiliary sand crusher to optimize the sand making effect of the sand making plant, ensuring the stability of the sand crusher.
In the design of an artificial sand production line and its sand making system, the raw material particle size must first be considered. Generally, a particle size of less than 25 mm with continuous gradation ensures high working efficiency of the sand making machine and large sand output of the sand making plant. The VSI crusher, as a key sand crusher, has higher adaptability to such raw materials.
Secondly, the moisture content of raw materials also affects the sand making efficiency of the sand making machine and the overall operation effect of the sand making plant. When the moisture content exceeds 2%, the separation efficiency of screening equipment will decrease, which will further affect the working efficiency of the VSI crusher. Therefore, rainproof measures must be considered for the dry production process of the artificial sand production line.
Equipment selection for the sand making plant is a key link in the design of the artificial sand production line, which directly affects the quality and cost of sand production. The selection of sand crusher, especially the VSI crusher, is crucial. In equipment configuration, full consideration shall be given to the properties of the source rock, the gradation and quality requirements of finished aggregates, and the technical performance of main equipment such as the VSI crusher and sand making machine. The configuration shall not only be technically advanced and economically rational, but also ensure the reliability of the artificial sand production line and the sand making plant operation.
