Screening is indispensable in sand and aggregate production lines, and it is crucial for finished material quality. Its main purpose is separating materials with different properties, which requires suitable screening equipment.

Types of Screening Equipment
Most screening equipment uses rotation, vibration, reciprocation or oscillation to grade materials via screen meshes. The vibrating screen is widely used for its high efficiency; many screening equipment types belong to the vibratory screen category, designed for diverse processing needs.
Screening equipment is classified by structure and motion characteristics. Each type, especially the vibratory screen, has unique advantages and scopes, enabling selection of the most suitable screens for different conditions.

Introduction to Different Vibrating Screens
Among screening equipment, circular vibratory screens and linear vibrating screens are most commonly used in mining. As typical vibratory screen types, they are preferred for stable performance. Below are their key characteristics and applications.
● Circular Vibratory Screen
A classic vibratory screen, it uses centrifugal force from eccentric blocks to drive screen box circular motion. This screen has reliable structure, high efficiency, strong exciting force, and durability, suitable for harsh environments and widely used in mining, building materials and other sectors.
● Linear Vibrating Screen
An important vibratory screen in screening equipment, it uses vibrating motors to make materials move linearly. This screening equipment has reasonable parameters, low energy consumption, high output, and a fully enclosed structure, ideal for assembly lines and modern production.
● Resonance Screen
Its frequency matches the screen surface's natural frequency, saving power. However, this screening equipment has complex structure, difficult adjustment and high failure rate, with limited application.
● Fixed Screen
A simple screening equipment not belonging to vibratory screen, it relies on material self-weight for screening. It is low-cost, simple to make, widely used in concentrators for pre-screening, but has low productivity and efficiency.
● Roller Screen
Different from vibratory screen, it uses shaft discs for screening. It has unique design but is rarely used in mineral processing plants, usually replaced by more efficient circular vibratory screens or linear vibrating screens.
● Equal‑Thickness Screen (Banana Screen)
It maintains constant material layer thickness during screening. This screening equipment doubles processing capacity, widely used in large-scale sand and aggregate production lines.
